Its the early hours of the morning here at the Kings Resort in Rosvadov, where Day 1 of Event #9: 1,100 NLH Mystery Bounty at the 2024 World Series of Poker Europe has come to a close. The 515-entrant field created a prize pool of 484,100, where the winner wil take home a top prize of 69,050.

Play came to an end in the fifteenth 40-minute level when the field had been narrowed down to 103 players, all of whom will return tomorrow at 2 p.m. local time for Day 2. Leading the chip counts is Ramana Epparla from the United States with an impressive stack of 534,500. This will prove to be very helpful in his bounty-hunting adventure getting underway from the start of play tomorrow.?

The most decorated WSOP player heading to the baize for Day 2 is Shaun Deeb, who sits in sixteenth position with 241,000. The six-time bracelet winner joined the field near the start and steadily added to his stack throughout the day. Deeb has yet to taste WSOP success in Europe, so hell be hoping to use his wealth of poker experience to his advantage and navigate his way to bracelet number seven tomorrow.

Paduano is no stranger to bringing big stacks through to Day 2's. Just yesterday he entered the second day of Event #6: 5,000 Pot Limit Omaha with a top three stack, only to exit in one of the first few levels. Paduano is on the hunt for his first WSOP final table and will be hoping to pick up some juicy bounties along the way.

Ahuja Backdoors a Flush, Paduano Angry At Clock Being Called

Nvel 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Ankit Ahuja
Ankit Ahuja

Arturo Paduano opened to 4,000 from under the gun and Ankit Ahuja peeled from the small blind.

They saw a flop of A?2?A? where Ahuja check-called a bet of 2,500.

Ahuja went into check-call mode again on the Q? turn after Paduano fired 6,000.

When the 7? dropped on the river, Ahuja checked for a third time and Paduano fired 12,000. Ahuja thought about it for a while then stuck in a raise to 60,000, which seemed to confuse Paduano as he took his sunglasses off and analyzed the board. After what seemed like a minute, Alexandru Farcasanu called the clock on Paduano.

"You take ten minutes every hand," said Farcasanu. Paduano wasn't happy and argued that it was a big pot and he hadn't had enough time to think, and that he shouldn't be put on a countdown. The floor came over but before they could initiate the count, Paduano called.

Ahuja showed K?2? for a backdoored flush, and Paduano frustratingly flipped over A?10? for trip aces.

Paduano Holds With Top Pair to Move Up the Leaderboard

Nvel 11 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Arturo Paduano

Daewoong Song raised from early position and Arturo Paduano three-bet to 7,500 from the hijack. When it folded back to Song he four-bet to 30,000. Paduano thought briefly before making the call.

Song continued with a bet of 7,500 on the Q?9?7? flop and after doing some inventory, Paduano shoved for the rest of Song's remaining stack. Song called.

Daewoong Song: A?8? All in
Arturo Paduano: K?Q?

Paduano had top pair, but Song still had the nut flush draw. The 3? turn followed by the 10? river didn't help Song, and Pafuano had virtually doubled up to become one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Dryden Scores a Double Knockout, Breaks 200,000

Sam Dryden
Sam Dryden

Samuel Ju raised from under the gun to 2,500 and Shaun Deeb three-bet to 7,500. Marius Gicovanu then shoved the button for around 12,000, and Sam Dryden made it 25,000 out of the big blind. Ju then shoved for around 55,000, which got Deeb to fold, and Dryden made the call.

Marius Gicovanu: K?Q? All in
Samuel Ju: 5?5? All in
Sam Dryden: A?K?

Ju was looking to run up a stack but all of his chips ended up in Dryden's possession as the A?7?A?10?9? runout gave Dryden trips and the double elimination.

Deeb Delivers a Knockout While Getting a Massage

Nvel 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Samuel Ju raised from early position to 2,500 and got called by Nikolay Zhurnalov & Gassan Azzam in the next seats before Shaun Deeb made it 12,500 from the hijack. Ju called, Zhurnalov folded, and Azzam called.

They went to a flop of K?A?7? three-ways where Ju checked, and Azzam shoved for 31,900. Deeb thought about it for a while then shoved, and Ju folded.

Gassan Azzam: 3?2? All in
Shaun Deeb: A?J?

Azzam had a flush draw and needed to connect with it as Deeb had flopped top pair. The A? on the turn gave Deeb trips, which removed some of the outs of Azzam. Azzam momentarily thought he had won when the J? landed on the river, but quickly realized that Deeb had improved to a full house, then vacated his seat.

During the entire hand, Deeb was getting a massage on his arm, which must have felt good as he single-handedly stacked his chips while his other was being rubbed by the masseuse.

Three-Way All-In Results in a Chop

Nvel 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Jason Clarke
Jason Clarke

With around 8,000 in the middle on a flop of 7?6?4?, it checked to Jason Clarke (UK) who shoved for 19,100. Elia Salerno then shoved for 22,500 and Nicolae Paunescu called to put both players at risk.

Jason Clarke (UK): A?10? All in
Elia Salerno: 4?4? All in
Nicolae Paunescu: A?5?

Clarke had a flush draw, Paunescu had an open-ended straight draw, but it was Salerno in the lead with his flopped set and he was the favorite to effectively triple up.

A 3? on turn changed things as Paunescu improved to a straight, which left him in the lead and on the verge of a very healthy stack. However, the 5? on the river put a straight on the board and meant all three players pulled their chips back and chopped what was in the middle.

Iman Ghashayar

A full board of 8?4?10?9?2? was showing and with around 20,000 chips in the pot, Georges Sultanem fired a bet of 8,500. His opponent, Iman Ghashayar, didn't need to think for too long before he flung a chip high in the air, which landed in the pot to signify a call.

Sultanem then showed 9?9? for a turned set of nines, and Ghashayar shook his head as he mucked.

Arturo Paduano and Danas Dambrauskas got all of their chips in preflop, and Mariusz Golinski made the call with the covering stack to try and bust them.

Gogelidze Finds a Ten to Double

Andria Gogelidze
Andria Gogelidze

Andria Gogelidze had become short-stacked and chose to commit his last 11,500 into the middle over a Danas Dambrauskas raise. Dambrauskas called to put Gogelidze at risk.

Andria Gogelidze: A?10? All in
Danas Dambrauskas: A?Q?

Gogelidze would need to find a ten to stay alive. The flop of 2?10?6? propelled Gogelidze into the lead with top pair. There was no help for Dambrauskas on the J? turn or 5? river and Gogelidze had doubled up.
