A couple hours after the tournament began, Haxton already had nearly 600,000 chips, about 200K more than his closest rival. However, he got into a massive spot against Thomas Muehloecker about 90 minutes before late registration ended, but his aces were cracked by Muehloecker's king-ten and Haxton never recovered.
